Thriving in the Wheatbelt

Harold had a great time with students in WA’s Wheatbelt region - with schools in Dongara, Pingelly, Northam and Bluff Point in Geraldton receiving their very first Life Ed visit, thanks to the Thrive Children’s Fund.
The schools explored topics like healthy and safe choices, respectful relationships, online safety and wellbeing, and smoking and vaping.
The engagement was overwhelmingly positive as face-to-face incursions are very rare here.

Not only do the kids benefit from Life Ed sessions, but the teachers do too. Living in a regional community has its challenges and for teachers, limited funding and resources can mean it is difficult to deliver the crowded curriculum.
That’s where the Life Ed Thrive Children’s Fund comes in.
Thanks to support from foundation partner Woolworths Supermarkets, we have been able to help more students and teachers in isolated communities, like the Wheatbelt in WA.
Life Ed’s Thrive Children’s Fund was set up to ensure more children and schools in rural, remote and low socio-economic areas are able to access the latest evidence-based learning modules, so young people can develop critical life skills to use into the future.
Woolworths Supermarkets are the foundation partners of the Fund, contributing $250,000 over the past two years which has helped more than 12,000 kids across the country benefit from the Life Ed program.
At Life Ed, we pride ourselves on taking the complex issues and turning them into exciting adventures which harness the imaginative and curious nature of young people.
During their session, students are empowered to uncover information and unlock critical thinking skills. Education is power and it was amazing to visit the Wheatbelt community and to see so many smiling faces thriving.
